The park was recently designated by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve. Queen Elizabeth national park is special because of its beautiful landscape and collection of wildlife. The creation of the East African Rift Valley led to secondary faulting which created gorges, crater lakes, swamps, Salt Lake, valleys and other remarkable features that make the park a natural wonder for nature lovers.

The Kazinga Chanel connects Lake Albert to Lake George. It is considered one of the best places for birding and viewing wildlife in Africa. Overall, Queen Elizabeth has over 500 bird species. You can see Kingfishers, bee-eaters, eagles, raptors, flamingos, cranes and a lot more.
